Who We Are.
Bruhlidays began in 2019 when a group of friends noticed a dramatic rise in homelessness in Chattanooga. They chose to spend their holidays getting to know this community and offering support in any way they could. They organized a Christmas Eve food drive—with an added focus on community building. They brought music, food, and a genuinely good time to show that this community is part of our family, too.
What We Do.
Bruhlidays is all about community. Every year looks a little different than the last. As the needs of people moving in and out of homelessness change, we adapt. At the height of the pandemic, we distributed as many health and hygiene kits as we did food. In 2020, we shifted our focus to children’s toys and women’s products after listening to the feedback from the previous year. Food will always remain at the heart of Bruhlidays, but we also spend a lot of time talking with the community to understand how we can continue to support them in the ways they find most meaningful.
How You Can Help.
We encourage everyone to take part in Bruhlidays in whatever way they can. Volunteer if you have the time. Donate a meal if you have the means. And most importantly, spread the word. The more Chattanoogans who know about Bruhlidays, the more people we can ultimately help. You can even download the event flyer to share on your social media.
